ST. JOHN'S CHURCH.

LADIES’ GUILD FORMED. A meeting was held in the Library on Tuesday afternoon for the purpose of forming a ladies’ guild in connection with St. Jchn’y Church, Cheviot. There was a splendid attendance, the ; hree centres—Cheviot, Domett and Spotswood being well represented. Apologies for absence, together with assurances of support, were received from many wellwishers. It was decided to form a guild, under the title of “St. John’s Ladies’ Guild.” The following were elected to office:— President, Mrs G. Widdup; Secretary, Mrs Noonan; Treasurer, Mrs Stewart Pain. To inaugurate the guild meetings it was decided to hold a gift afternoon on Thursday, September 24, at the Vicarage, and to begin the regular fortnightly sewing meetings on October 8. At the conclusion of the meeting Mrs Widdup entertained these present at afternoon tea.
