Mrs H. C. Revel 1 and Misi Revell, * Korotueka,’ Kaiapoi, are on a visit to Reef ton, and are tbe guests of Mrs Stallard. Mrs Lucy Rewiti diad in tbe Wairoa Hospital this morning as the reault of burns received from a petrol explosion whilst her husband was filling a cigarette lighter at Mahia Peninsula last week. Wairoa Press wire Mr A. Tyndall, Under-Secretary I for Mines, arrived in Reefton yesterday and left for Wellington via Blenheim this morning. Mr Tyndall is not a stranger to Reefton, having been here on various occasions as a member of the Main Highways Board. Dr. A. R. Marshall, Medical Superintendent of Reefton Hospital leaves this evening on & couple of weeks’ holiday. During his absence | Dr. Paul Fogarty of Greymoutb, who has just returned to the Dominion after a year spent in Edinburgh, will be in charge of the Hospital. The death occurred yesterday of Alexander Cowie, a resident of Stafford Street, Hokitika. Deceased was born in Aberdeen '(Scotland) in 1873, and came to New Zealand 43 years ago, who was in business in Reefton for a time as a cycle dealer. He was dredgemaster in turn of the Greenstone Creek, and Maori Creek gold dredges. He had been retired for some five years, .previous to. which he was licensee of the Post Office Hotel for twenty-one years. He leaves a widow and one aon, Hr Alex Cowie and one daughter, Miss Christina Cowie, both of Hokitika.
