(Per United Press Assnj rugby protest UPHELD BY ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL WELLINGTON, Last Night. Advice has been received from the Rugby Football Union in England that the Carterton Clubs appeal against the decision of the New Zealand Rugby Union was unsuccessful. Originally the Red Star Club protested against the action of a referee in the senior championship final Red Star v. Carterton, in altering his decision affecting the scoring of a try. The protest was upheld by the Watrarapa Rugby Union and their action was endorsed by the New Zealand Rugby Union.
