A LAD DROWNED.

(Per United Press Assn.) AUCKLAND, Last Night. A drowning accident, resulting in the death of Robert Allan Sutherland, aged nine years and 11 months, of Grey Lynn, occurred in Cox ’s Creek tidal estuary on the western harbour front this afternoon. Numerous other young children were bathing in the vicinity at the time, the .tide being on the ebb. It is not clear how the accident happened, but is thought that the boy had a seizure while in the water. A man who was bathing in the vicinity, noticed several children holding the lad with a view to keeping his head above water. He took the boy ashore and tried resuscitation methods, but was without success. The doctor was summoned but further mn?»eit«.tio», efforts plso failed.
