The Salvation Army Concert
On Thursday evening, a very enjoyable hour and a half was spent, when a programme was given by the young people. It was indeed very creditable. The performers were delighted to see a full hall of people, which showed very much the interest of the townsfolk Adjutant Nelson (Christchurch), made a very able chairman, sandwiching between the items a little humour. Especially worthy of mention was the clever club-swinging by Lieut. Drummond. A character song by the Boy Scouts, entitled “Jolly Workers,” brought forth much applause. Solos by Misses Trembatb and Doran, recitations by Miss M. Chandler, other character songs and tableaux, were all delightful to the audience.
