EXCHANGE ON CHEQUES RESOLUTION CARRIED OHINEMURI COUNTY COUNCIL A proposal that the Ohinemuri County Council should move at the New Zealand Comities Association’s conference that the exchange on cheques should be abolished was put forward by the county clerk, Mr A. A. JenkiMea, , at the December meeting of the counciL Mr Jenkinson pointed out that in Britain there was no exchange charged on cheques. He knew there would be objection to such a proposal by the banking institutions but that was no reason why the proposal should not be advocated. Members suggested that the chambers of commerce and Federated Farmers should he urged to take the matter up and carried a resolution that the proposal be placed before counties association.
