Cow Electrocuted

A claim of £ll 10s from a farmer in Hoe-o-Tainui for a milking cow which was electrocuted by a fallen wire was paid out by the Thames Valley Electric-Power Board recently. The farmer was driving his cows to the shed along the Tainui road when one beast contacted a live wire which was down on the road close to a fence, and was electrocuted. The assistant engineer, Mr G. P. Lindsay, stated, at the February meeting of the. board, that this was a most unusual case, as under most circumstances the wire would not have been alive.
