CHORAL SOCIETY

ANNUAL MEETING HELD

ONLY A SMALL ATTENDANCE

The annual meeting of the Paeroa Choral Society was held on Thursday evening in the Presbyterian hall with only a small gathering present. Officers werd elected as follows: Patron, Mr Edwin Edwards; president, Mr F. Davie; vice-president, Mr N. R. Harris; secretary, Mrs G. Smith; treasurer, Miss R. Smith; librarian, Miss B. Parry; committee, Mesdames L. G. B. Whitehead, G. Wiki, J. Mitchell, Mr R. Greenslade and the president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer and librarian. From the treasurer’s statement of accounts it was seen that the society is in a sound financial position.

In the president’s speech Mi Davie mentioned several members who have left Paeroa, including the former president, Mr A. Reynolds, and the conductor, Mr G. MeAlonan. Thanks were given to Mr G. Pinnock for carrying on as choirmaster, and a vote of thanks was also passed to Mr and Mrs Leigh for their work . as
