DOMAIN BOARD MEETS
LONG BAY PARK PROPOSALS CARETAKER APPOINTED The annual meeting of the Domain Board of the Coromandel County Council was held just before the luncheon adjournment of the main meeting on Thursday. In regard to Long Bay Park, Cr. E. J. Simpson suggested the procuring of a large tank from one of the dismantled! air force camps if the buyers were prepared to sell, and use it for a reservoir at Long Bay. After a general discussion about Long Bay park, it was proposed by the chairman, Cr. E. Deeble and seconded by Or. Simpson “That the question of the Long Bay water supply be again taken up with the Minister.” The chairman reported that he had a man to act as caretaker for the park without remuneration. It was resolved “That Mr Brady be appointed as caretaker to Long Bay park, he to have the use of the cottage and no salary to be paid.” It was also resolved to put in a stove in the cottage at the council’s expense.
The grazing for the Long B'ay park was re-let to Mr R. Davies at the same rental as last year.
