Earthquake Memories. Sunday was the fifteenth anniversary of the great earthquake disaster in Hawke’s Bay. Oil February 3, 1931, the town of Napier experienced l the heaviest, earthquake in- New Zealand’s history. All two-storied houses and buildings in the town were flattened and fires raged. Landslides occurred around the harbour and the bluff was Carried away. There were over 1000 casualties at Napier, including over 106 killed. Twenty-one deaths were reported from Hustings. No Luncheon Interval As from to-day the Paeroa Post Office will not be closed for the luncheon interval, advises the postmaster, Mr C. W. Williams.
