SMALL HOUSE ABLAZE GOOD WORK BY BRIGADE A small house on Hauraki road, Coromandel, owned by the Thames Hospital Board and occupied by Mrs Janie iPotae, was badly damaged on Monday morning, November 8. The first was .first noticed at about 7.45 a.m. and was at that time burning fiercely. The Coromandel Volunteer Fire Brigade' was quickly on the scene but experienced difficulty in crossing the tidal creek. The dwo back rooms Of the house were totally gutted but the rooms in the front of the house were saved although they were badly scorched.
