FAREWELL AFTERNOON
MRS J. A. TAYLOR HONOURED RAILWAY SETTLEMENT EVENT 4 ■ Mrs J. A. Taylor, of the Paeroa Railway Settlement was tendered a farewell afternoon recently when members of the settlement and other friends gathered at the Railway Tennis Courts, Mrs Geddes, speaking on behalf of all assembled, wished Mrs Taylor all the best in her new hotne at Frankton and presented her with a lovely handbag in which was a cheque. Mrs Taylor suitably replied, saying how sorry she was to be leaving the many friends she had made in 'Paeroa. MALT BISCUITS 1 lb. Butter 2 Tabs. Sugar 2 Tabs. Golden Syrup 2 Tabs. Malt (plain) 1 Pinch Salt 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda 2 Cups Vimeal Place butter, sugar, syrup and. malt in a saucepan, add soda and mix until frothy. Add flour, roll into balls, let cool and pat down with fork. Moderate oven. GINGER NUTS 1 Cup Golden Syrup 1 Cup Sugar 1 Cup Butter 3 Cups Flour 1 Dessertspoonful Ground Ginger or grated Whole Ginger 1 Teaspoon Carb. Soda i Teaspoonful Salt Heat the first three ingredients and add to the dry ones. Roll the mixture into balls, flatten the tops slightly. Cook from 10 to 12 minutes in a slow oven. 350 deg.
