Keane. . . After supper had been served Mr Keyes, M.C., called on Mr C. W. Parfitt to make the presentation on behalf of the Pipiroa residents. Mr Parfitt said it was with a feeling of real regret that the residents had gathered there to farewell Mr and Mrs Ganley and he was certain that they Would be greatly missed by everyone. • He said that he was sure that if “Bill,” as Mr Ganley was known to all of us, had left one enemy in the district it would not be his fault. Mr Ganley, on rising to reply, was greeted with rounds of applause and musical honours. He said it was with real regret that he and Mrs Ganley were leaving the district and that they both appreciated the kindness and generosity of the people of Pipiroa and sincerely thanked one and all for their presence there and for the gifts they had given them. Dancing continued until midnight and “Auld Lang Syne” brought a happy evening to a close.
