REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE

TREE-CUTTING DONE IN AREA

“No new construction work was undertaken in the northern area during the period, except the erection of four new service lines and seven submains,” reported the chief engineer, Mr N. G. McLeod, to Tuesday’s meeting of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board. “On the Waitakaruru-Mahuta road section, angle poles have been pulled back and anchored. A 35ft. pole was replaced, and the line generally was overhauled.

“A 35ft. pole on the Maratoto road section has been replaced, the low tension terminating fpole {has been stubbed and anchored, and the angle poles have been blocked. “The Wharf road (Hikutaia) line has been overhauled during the period, and six 30ft. poles were replaced.

“ A considerable amount of threecutting has been done during the month, in the following sections:— Awaiti West road; Fishers’ road, Netherton; Pekapeka road; Komata road north; Maratoto road; Waitakaruru to Dalgety’s Corner and in Coronation road, Paeroa.”
