WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.

TE IIOE BRANCH. Miss 0. Baucke and Miss Cuff were the hostesses at the monthly meeting of the Te Hoe Women's Institute. It was decided to hold the annual meeting in December. Mr M. Patten, St. John Ambulance, continued his lectures on First Aid, and Mrs C. A. L. Thompson gave an interesting demonstration in pokerwork. The roll-call of a household hint was responsible for many new ideas. Mesdames Twining and McQueen were the winners of the competitions. A great variety of useful articles made out of flour-bags were exhibtied. The trading table did great business. Gramophone selections were played throughout the afternoon. Tea was served by the hostesses and concluded a most enjoyable afternoon.
