DETENTION IN BORSTAL. (Per Press Association—Copyright). AUCKLAND, June 16. “Your trouble is that you seem unable to stick at steady work. It is a question of discipline,” said Mr Justice Reed, in the Supreme Court, when Bernard Edward Way, aged 19, came up for sentence for a breaking and entering offence at Wellington concerning which he had been placed on probation. That had been abused, the probation officer said. While on probation, Way was convicted at Auckland of obtaining money b,y false pretences and unlawfully converting a car, for which he was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment. Passing sentence on the original crime at Wellington, His Honour ordered a term, not exceeding two years, at the Borstal Institution.

In the investigation of mammitis the Dairy Board had given very full cooperation.
