In addition many people, some of them old residents loiijidentified with the district, ha\e been injured. The number, it is regretted to say, includes, also, the wife of the deceased, to whom the fullest sympathy is being extended. The accident is one which "ill have no doubt the fullest investigation on the part of the authorities. The service is one which sprang into ready popularity because of its convenience, and the Department must see that the safety margin for the future is enlarged beyond the risk of similar occurrences, assuring that the cause is that accepted generally.
