Alleging that she was struck, dumb by a blow from a woman customer in a leading city store, a saleswoman has lodged a claims with the Workers’ Compensation Commission. It will be the first of its kind to be heard in that jurisdiction. Questions have arisen as. to tho liability of the respondent and tho amount and duration of compensation.
The condition, known medically as functional aphonia, is relatively rare in industry, but many cases occurred at the war.
One victim, a soldier now practising in Sydney as a solicitor, recovered his speech at the .climax of a scene in a city theatre when he suddenly exclaimed, ■“Look out!”
