SAILS IN DRENCHING RAIN.

BRISBANE December 10. y . Prince Henry to-day completed his Australian tour of sixty-seven days, and lie has sailed aboard H.M.A.S. Australia for New Zealand. A thunderstorm with torrential rain, drenched the Duke and all of' the officials on their arrival at the wharf. Rt. Hon. J A. Lyons, Prime Minister, farewelled Prince Henry on the wharf, while the Governor General and the Queensland Governor hoarded H.M.A.S. Australia to bid the Royal visitor goodbye. One. of the horses in an escort furnished by the Light Horse, was frightened by a thunderclap. It fell and broke its rider’s leg.

The Prince, on the eve of his departure conferred decorations on seveial gentlemen for services in connection with liis visit.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR N.Z. TOUR.

WELLINGTON, December 10

Complete arrangements have been made by the Defence and Navy Departments for the part each is to he required to take during the visit of the Duke of Gloucester. Hon. Mr Cobbe stated to-day that, throughout the tour, the military authorities will be working in conjunction with the civic authorities for the organisation of receptions to be accorded to His Royal Highness.

The Defence Department has arranged for the furnishing of guards of honour, bands, etc., at various centres throughout New Zealand, and has also arranged for a flight of ‘Tomtits’’ from the New Zealand Air Force to meet H.M.A.S. Australia and th e units of the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy on the arrival at V ellington Heads at 8.30 a.m. on December 15th, and to accompany them up the harbour to the city.
