During the committee stage when the, "House- of Lords- ,w.as considering the,; Incitement of Disaffection Bill, Lord Allen said that, recently, it came to his' knowledge, from a source which he’had no reason, to donht, that there was some, kind- -of / movement. afoot in Britain to seize, the, British Broadcasting- Corporation - and, to bring about a coup d’etat sijnilar to tjhe one that was prepared in Vienna, when Doctor Dollfuss was assassinated. * Intjprviefved by the “Daily Hernia,” Lord Allen refused to say whether this plan came from the Risrht or from the Left, but he said that it was seriously discussed by one of the Parties wjhich believed in constitutional action. He did not think that the plans had progressed beyond the contemplation stage.
