'FURNITURE FACTORY. BURNT.

(Received this dav at 10 a.m.) SYDNEY. June 9.
The factory of the- Australian Furniture Company in Annahdul© was destroyed by fire. The damage is estimated at £15,000. Several firemen had narrow escapes when the walls of the building collapsed. One was struck on the head and was taken to the hospital.
INFLAMMATORY SPEECHES
ITALIAN MEETING.
BRISANE, June 9
Inflammatory speeches marked a meeting of seven hundred Italians at Innesfa.il and an attack was made on the Australian returned soldiers, and a vigorous protest against the growing practice of giving preference to British workers on cane fields was made. It was the biggest gathering of Italians in the history of the town and as feeling is running high in the district special precautions are taken.
