INVERCARGILL, June 6,

An elderly single, man, -James Luttit, who lived alone in a hut near Wallace town, was knocked down anil killed instantly this evening by a moLo rear on the Invercargill-RTveiton Load, about 300 yards oil the Riverton side of the Railway Crossing at Lornville. Luttit was apparently walking towards Wallacetown when he was struck h.v the car, which was travelling towards Wallacetown,. and which was passing a car coming towards Invercargill when the accident occurred.
