Crawford and Lee . both played a base line game and when 2—l in the sets against him, Crawford adopted cutting and slicing tactics, and won the last two sets easily. ? Hopman caused a surprise in beating hard-hitting Gregory. 'He peppered the latter’s weak' back-hand. The Englishman also was unable to handle Hopman’s cannon ball service.
