Mr Jeffries asked if it wore possible to push on with the old peoples’ building at AA’estland Hospital, to enable the Kumara Home to be closed ns soon ns possible, would it ensure a reduction The Chairman said lie did not think it was possible to close Kumara Homo under nine months. Mr Jeffries said if that were done then lie would favour approving of the present estimates. There was a general discussion on various matters, round the table. The Chairman did not see how any further reductions could be made, except to take £l5O off of the S.W. Nurse estimates, as she would not be required till the cottage was built. Air Jeffries thought they could cut off the items S. AY. Nurse £l5O, and Kumara Home £450, a total of £6OO. He moved to reduce the estimates by that amount. £3OO off levy and £3OO off subsidy.

Mr Duff seconded. "I lie motion was agreed to. Tlie (.'liainnan moved that the estimates as reduced be sent on to the local bodies for their consideration and approval. Seconded by Mr Jeffries anti earned. Tt was resolved to meet on Monday. 30th. April to confirm and strike the levy. The Board rose at 1 i . 10 p.m.
