The shipowners now state that they have decided to make a fight against what they term ever-changing agreements asked for by the men. They say that even if the stewards’ dispute is settled, the ships would again be held up because of the seamen’s and firemen's demands. The owners declare that until all disputes are overcome and there is a reasonable chance of giving their vessels a long period of uninterrupted service, they will be party to no move for a settlement. *
