(Received This Day at 8.30.a.m.) PARIS, January 3. “Le commenting on American and Canadian naval bases and Australia, New Zealand, and Canada’s position in regard to the American fleet as a protection for themselves, says it is impossible to pretend that American armament is a menace to British interests. The' firdt step to check the ruinous competition is to persuade Americans to stop building largo warships. It is necessary to discover whether Japan means to continue naval armaments. Britain her ally might question her.

(Received This Day at 8.30 a.m.) PARIS, January 3. M.. Poincaire, in an article in “Lo Matin” complains that instead of applying to Germany remedies provided in the treaty the Allies resorted to energetic notes and serious injunctions for over a year Germany had deceived us. Could not we inform Germany that the inter-AUied Commission will continue until it is certain that disarmament is complete and sincere.
