Galvin (Taumarunui) made an ascent of Girlestone Peak, 8750 feet, in Tongariro Park, for the purpose of ascertaining the condition of the marble slab erected thereon two years a<?o in memory of the late Hugh Girdlestone, F.R.G.L.
