Received Sept. 6, 12.45 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 5. The Trades Union Congress decided that the new secretary should devote his whole time to the Labour movement and be debarred from Parliamentary candidature. -His salary was increased from £150 to £750.

After a heated debate the Congress decided that the dispute, between the Sailors' and Firemen's Uhions and the Amalgamated Marine Workers' Union be referred to the disputes committee to try and reconcile and. amalgamate the rival unions.—Reuter.
