MEET OF HUNT CLUB. ! 'The Egmont-Wangairai Hunt Clufe -cfwood^' * wi, Mr- "(• S" Pearce's farm l . Whenuakura, on Saturday afternoon last.. The weather was fine, with a keen wind. There was a large following. The hounds were-not long -en? M+f °nn he &"Tt> the hare! kept to the gully, and it was some time before one was driven out. Once out a fine run was indulged in and some excellent jumping witnessed. The hare made back for the gully, but the hounds were not to be denied, nnd effected a kill. Afternoon tea was dispensed by Mr. and Mrs. Pearce. In thanking them for their hospitaliinr and also for the use of the farm to hunt over, Dr. Simmons, the master said it was th e first time the club had hunted over this property, and he certainly hoped it would not be the last Mr Pearce thanked. Dr. Simmons for his kind remarks, and said that he hoped the club would in future include his property when mfeking up their fixtures, for it gave Mrs. Pearce and himself mst as much pleasure to have them alt there a* it did for them to be there 1 hree hearty cheers were then given for Mr. and Mrs. Pearce, and the gathering broke up. ' ■
