HAWERA'S BUSINESS EXPANSION.
(To the Editor.). Sir, —I read with' interest your subleader on the above subject in last night's Hawera Star. It.will be generally conceded that y«u have outlined a fairly accurate forecast of the future development of our town's business centre. There is no doubt that the enterprise of section owners will have more effect upon the development of a thoroughfare than the site of a future railway station. There is one sentence in yonr sub-leader which I venture to, query. You say " In-Uiiibn street the Masonic Hall will always cause a break." Now it is a fact that 'the1 owners of tlie Masonic Hall have a property in Wellington street in reserve. It is also known that they are considering the question of building premises on to "Union street with haJl above or behind, or possibly ■moving to their alternate site, fore "the Masonic Hall will not always cause a Dieak in Union Street." There is no doubt that if the owners in this street display enterprise it will become an important business thoroughfare. Thanking you in anticipation. —I am, etc.,
INTERESTED,
