WHANGAREI, Oct. 14. There was fine weather, broken by showers, for the second day of the Whangarei races, but the course wai holding after a heavy rainstorm last evening. There was a good attendance The totalisator handled £16,423. Results : '

Marsden Handicap—Pengwen 1, Battleplane 2, Elsie Aroha 3. Scratched: Lady Hill, Sussex. Won by two lengths Time, 1.46 1-5t
Poroti Hurdles—Tom Moore l, Mimiwhangata 2, Bezant 3. Scratched: Welshman, Manuku. Won by a neck Time, 3.27 2-5.
Park Handicap—Stork 1, Goldplane 2, Canowindra 3. All started. An exciting finish. Won by half a length, a neck betweeiusecond and third, and the others close up. Time, 1.45 4-5. Kamo Handicap—Lady Frederick 1, Scrap o" Paper 2, Sussex 3. Scratched: Miss March. Won by two lengths. Time, 1.33 4-5.
Titoki Handicap—Lady Hill l, Rosullus 2, Utakura 3. Scratched: Loved One. Won by a length. Time, 1.33 1-5.
