CONCLUDING DAY'S RESULTS
MASTERTON, Oct. 14. The Maste'rton spring meeting concluded to-day in fine weather, though the track was holding. There was a good attendance. The totalisator handled £11,871, the total for the meeting being £22,622, against £35,936 at the last spring meeting. Results: High-weight Handicap.—Silk 'Rein (Young) 1, Fera 2, Kyoto 3. Also started: Edendale, Admiration, Projector, Blue Hall. Won by a nose. Time, 1.59 2-5.
Maiden Handicap.—Lady Fingers (Bagby) 1, The Linnet 2, Merrimas 3. Also started: Hytinus, Lady Knox, Bonomel, Deborah, Rose Deval. Won by a, length. Time, 1.17.
Macara Handicap.—Royal Box (A. Reed) 1, Ambitious 2, Dainty Step 3. Also started: Chimera, Backsheesh, Kikini. Won easily. Time, 1.15.
Cave Plate. —Pentagruel (R. Reed) 1, Avonlea 2, Glaive 3. Also started: Blonde (bracketed with the winner), Soliform, Panorama, Idanoe, Enthuse, All Gold (bracketed with Avonica). Won by a length. Time, 1.4 2-5. Opaki Handicap.—Festivity 1, Matatua 2, Bitters 3. Also started: Bonnetter, Tenterfield (bracketed with Bonnetter), Scion, Halifax, Prince Martian. Won by two- lengths. Time, 2.9 4-5. Spring Handicap.—Zouave (Con Reed) 1, Lady Ben 2, Brrkenella 3. Also started: Roset, Redlogue. Won by a length pulling up. Time, 1.57 2-5.
Waipipi Handicap.—Little River (Stowe) 1. Martian Miss (2), Dissertation 3. Also started: Probate, Sir Rosebery, Prince Hal, Island. Won by a length. Time, 1.29 4-5.
