WOOL SALES.
Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., are in receipt of the following information from their London office under date of 10th instant: The October sales opened with a large attendance of buyers; competition animated. There was an indifferent selection; practically no merino wools offered. As compared with last sales' closing rates —crossbred fine quality greasy Id to l*d higher, crossbred medium quality greasy Jd higher, crossbred coarse quality greasy par to Id higher, crossbred fine scoured Id higher, crossbred medium and coarse scoured unchanged, crossbred fine sliped Id higher, medium and coarse slipe crossbred unchanged, Australian ■ merino wools scoured 1\ to 10 per cent higher. The following is the range of •■ prices realised: Half bred, 56 to 581b, ! good to super 18|d, low to medium 15d jto 17Jd ; halfbred, 50 to 561b, good to super 17-J-d to 19Jd, low to medium 14* dto lo^d; fine crossbred, 46 to 481b, good to super 10|d to ll^d, low ip medium 7|d to 9id; crossbred, 44 to 461b, good to super B|d to 9£d, low to medium 7id to 8d; crossbred, 40 to 441b, good to super 7*d to BJd, low to medium 6Jd to 7£d~; coarse crossbred, 36 to 401b, super 7|d, medium 6|d.
