TREATY SIGNED.
BY CIBLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT LONDON, Oct. .11. Official.—A treaty between Britain and Irak was signed at Baghdad on Tuesday. >• . '_ Sir Percy Cox (Hjgh Commissioner) declared that Britain would speedily secure the "delimitation of Irak's frontier in order that when the treaty was ratified a stable Government would be assured. Irak could seek membership in the League of Nations, after which Britain's mandatory ' responsibilities would cease. . : ., ' The treaty operates for 20 years. It gives Britain control of Irak's foreign affairs and finances. Britain in return gives military • and finnacial assistance. .Feisul undertakes to frame an organic law providing for a constituent Assembly and Constitution, and to maintain religious freedom and an open door for trade with all nations. Government circles claim the treaty forms a 1 complete reply to the allegation that Britain is exploiting .Irak for commercial purposes. "
