ARBITRATION COURT
THE LABOUR SEAT
i • - ■ • (M TELEOBAFH—-PRESS ASSOCIATION.; CHRISTCHURCH. Oct. 15. Mr. J. A. McCullough has issued a t circular -letter to unions defining his 'position, iv regard $o the seat on the ■Arbitration Bench. The letter states that he has-not gone back on his deter[mination not to ait again witb the 'present members of the Court. He proposes to return to the position if possible until the Christmas vacation, or such earlier date as may be arranged. > This would enable the deputy member to ' sit and the court to function, and allow a candidate to be recommended j for election during the vacation. He I considers it would be neither honourable nor desirable for him to retain the position for any longer period than would enable the trade unions to nominate a successor with whatever unanimity may be possible.
