Following upon the successful aerial exploration of the Sahara, a proposal is afoot to link up southern Algeria with the Niger across the desert by means of caterpillar wheeled motor cats, which, it is behoved, will be able to cover 1860 miles in a fortnight. Petrol tanks have been specially constructed to prevent evaporation, and the cars have been subjected to the severest tests, including. climbing hotel' stairs with five passengers, turning at the top and coming down.
