TIEWS ON LABOR CHARTER OF

THE TREATY

(Reuter.) (Received Aug. 6, 11.30 a.m.) AMSTERDAM, Aug. 4. The Trade Union Congress committee a-eported that it was unable to» accent the Labor charter in the Peace Treaty &s a full expression of the demands of the working classes.

Mr S. Gompers declared that he Tvould strive for an improvement in the •charter, and demanded that Labor should not be 'regarded as an article of commerce. He urged equality of women and men.

. The German delegates urged .the application of the programme of the Berne international Conference, including the regulations of -women's labor : and shorter hours.

The French representative "supported this and declared that the workers must complete the ]jabor Charter.
