ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
DEATH OF A BOXER
(BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION ) DUNEDIN Aug. 5. An inquest on the body of Keay, the victim of the boxing fatality, opened to-night. The evidence showed that in the sixth round of a bout with Macdonald deceased was knocked down by a blow on the point. He fell on his back, and the back of his head struck the floor.
Dr Harrison said the bout was remarkably clean on both side*. When Keay was injured both men were very tired, and. in witness' opinion, incapable of delivering a knock-out blow. The fall could have been produced as easily by a push, as by a blow. Deceased evidently suffered from concussion and cerebral irritation.
"^he Tnquest was adjourned sine die to enable a post-mortem examination to be made.
