DUXEDIN, Aug. 5. I At the Supreme Court, Robert Pobar and Mary Faithful were charged with the theft of an .opossum skin ru«-, valued at £10, from the Gladstone Hotel. The later pleaded guilty and Pobar was found guilty of having re- ' ceived stolen property. Sentence in both cases was deferred. An old man named Michael Jones was charged with indecently assaulting a little girl, and, ! on a second count, with committing an ! indecent act. Accused was convicted on the second count and sentenced to two years' hard labor. George Henry Garland was acquitted on a charge of stealing a wallet, money, and a postal i note from James William Challis.
