MANAIA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) FIRE BRIGADE SOCIAL. The Manaia Fire Brigade's annual social was held in the Town Hall on Wednesday night, and was a great success. Visiting firemen were present from Hawera. Over ninety couples were dancing. The floor was in capital order, and the music was capably supplied by Cosgrove's orchestra:. A firstclass supper was provided. The duties of M.C. were ably carried out by Messrs C. Davis and John Daley. Mrs Dacon, of Kaupokonui, rendered two vocal items, which were very much appreciated. Extras were played by Misses Donald, Mitchell and Harcourt, Mm Cook and Mr Lynch, and a very pleasant evening was spent. Great credit is due to the secretary, and all who assisted to make the social such a success.
