DOMINION WINTER SHOW
i^ARM AND GARDEN SECTION
A most interesting section of the -show is that devoted to farm and garden, and to this there are a number of special prizes allotted. Th c*e * garden vegetable .classes comprise all kinds of vegetables, and give scope to all •amateur.gardeners. In th c field roots Newton King offers a silver challenge cup, and T. Borthwiek and Sons, Ltd., of chemical .manure as points prizes, and Kempthorne, Prosser scwt of .manure for the best exhibit by a farmer of root crops. This should ovoke keen competition and lead to a -grfeat display. Gardens in the public «chool section also offer wide scope for large and interesting exhibits. These must be the bona fide produce from the school garden belonging to the exhibiting school, and all entries must be in the name of the school. James and Gillman's handsome challenge shiel will be given to the school scoring most points in farm and garden eeiction,, schools division. In the best collection of farm roots there are two good specials donated by Mr O. GoodBon and Mr P. Mills. Altogether this Is a section of the 'show which should be keenly supported. Exhibitor^ will notice that, general entries will close on Saturday, June 14. It will assist the secretary, Mr L. 0. Hooker, P.O. Box 79, if as many entries as possible are sent in before that date. Schedules and all particulars ■will be forwarded oh application.
