CHARGE OF CRIMINAL ASSAtJLT.

In the &.M. Court this morning Neil McNeill was charged with, assault with intent to commit rap°, on a married woman. Senior Sergeant Till appeared en behalf of the polaoe. The Court was cleared while evidence was taken. " At the conclusion of the evidence, accused, who was defended by Mr P. ODea, pleaded not guilty and was committed for trial to thei'next sitting of the Supreme Court at Wanganui on May 26. Bail was allowed, accused's own surety of £300, and two sureties for the sam e amount. , WANDERING STOCK. For allowing horses to wander on the Normanby streets A. A. Rouse and George Payne were fined ss-and coate, and Anton Hurliman 10g and costs.
