OLD MAN SENTENCED
AUCKLAND, May 22. In the Supreme Court, William Montague Davenport Howes, aged 70 years, was found guilty of an unnatural oftence, and sentenced- to ten years' imprisonment. Judge Stringer said it was his duty to segregate accused from decent human beings. He realised accused would probably die in gaol but he could appeal to the Prisons Board it he, wished. He would have been entitled to send accused to gaol for life. <■
