At Wanganui during the week-end there was an unusual crop of accidents six or seven altogether, mostly collisions in town between motors and other vehicles. In several instances broken limbs were the result. Advice was received in, Bawera this morning that Private E ("Dick") Fryer has been wounded and admitted to hospital. Private Fryer, who went away witih the 35th Reinforcements was, .previous to enlisting, one of the staff of Messrs MeGruer, Bone and Co. The hon. secretary of the Patriotic Committee in 'Hawera has been requested to make an appeal for secondhand typewriters for use in N.Z E F hospitals for the care and training of wounded men.
