SHIPPING SHORTAGE.

THE OUTLOOK BETTER

BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION

. WELLINGTON, July 10. Mr Massey interrupted the debate on the Address-in-Reply to-day to state that the Government had been actively engaged endeavoring to overcome the shipping shortage. They had now arranged to have seventeen large ships, each capable of carrying 100,000 carcases, to load in the Dominion between now and September next. These would not be able to take all the produce now m store, but he did not expect the supply of ships to stop in September, and the outlook was decidedly better than for the last six months."
