ELTHAM.
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
WELCOME HOME
The Eltham Volunteer Fire Brigade i gave a very hearty welcome home to Private W. Hornblow, a member of the brigade, who has just returned from the front, at a social gathering of members of the brigade with their wives and lady friends. There were four other returned soldiers' present. The Mayor (Mr T. B. Crump) was also present, and on behalf of the Fire Brigade extended a hearty welcome j home to Private Hornblow. Mr J. W. Stubbs, for Private Hornblow, thanked the Mayor and the brigade for their welcome. A good dance programme, interspersed with songs and recitations, was gone through. The music was supplied by Mrs Burrows, and Deputy-superintendent Murray and Superintendent Nuttall carried out the duties of M.C.'s efficiently. Sonscs were contributed by the Rev. G. W. Dent and Miss E. Taylor, and Mr E. Parrott gave a recitation. A very enjoyable evening was spent.
