BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, May 23. Advice has been received that LieutColonel B, O. Freyberg, V.C., D.5.0., of the West Surrey Regiment, has been promoted for services in the field to Brigadier-General, commanding the 173 rd Infantry Brigade. He is only 27 years of age and formerly resided in Wellington. He served throughput the present war, and was the hero of the British landing at Helles 'and also of the battle of the Ancr.e.
