RIVERLEA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
FARMERS' UNION
A special meeting of the Riverlea branch of the Farmers' Union was held on Monday evening, Mr D. Malone presiding. There were twelve members present. In connection with a matter previously arranged with the Kaponga branch, it was decided to appoint Messrs O'Neill and G. Gibson as delegates from the Riverlea branch to confer with the Kaponga delegates on Friday at Kaponga. Some minor affairs in connection with the social were dealt with. The report of the Provincial Conference was presented by the delegate, and the prorincial balance-sheet was also discussed. There was no further business, and the meeting adjourned after passing a vote of thanks to the chair. SOCIAL. The social being held by the Union on Thursday evening promises to be the most successful held for a long time past, and all attending are aspured of a good time. The music will be supplied by Mr and Mrs McCarty. of Kaponga, and will be piano and violin. The supper will be of the best, and the excellent floor of the Riverlea Hall needs no recommendation. Everything is in tip-top order, and, given anything like a decent evening, there should be a record crowd. Cards, etc., will be provided for those who do not dance, and everyone is assured of spending a pleasant and enjoyable evening.
