FAREWELLS,
I ,?r Barron, who left, for the fxonfc j this (Monday) morning,, has received several tokens of esteem during the last few days. On Friday evening the tare welling committee of the 1.0 O F Lodge arranged a social and dance, bem S packed. The Rev. O. M. Stent asked Dr Barron to accept a silver wristlet watch and also a hussif, and spoke of the excellent work the doctor had done in the community. Dr Barron suitably, responded. On Saturday afternoon the TennisClub larewelled the doctor, and the Rev J. Russell presented the guest on behalf of the club, with a. sUvei cigarette case.. ' 4.iP n i Saturday evening a number of the doctor's personal friends gathered to say good-bye to him. Mr W. C. Dudley occupied the chair, and the following toasts were honored: "The ivmg"; "Our Guest," proposed, by the chairman; "The Boys at the Front" proposed by Mr J. Feaver; and "Our Allies," proposed by Mr Looney, supj ported by Messrs J. Young, and'" R. P. Malcolm. The gathering presented Dr Barron with a gold-mounted cigarette holder. At the close of the evening servicein the Presbyterian Church" on Sunday, the Rev. J. Russell presented Dr Barron with a fountain pen and Testament, and wished him Gkxispeed. The doctor thanked the congregation: for their good! wishes, and hoped to return with a wider experience' to resume his duties, ihi the district. Dr Ban-on takes up his- duties, in the medical corps with the= rank of captain.
