New Zealand cables should be reduced to 2s Bd. The J'aciiic Board has not shown the enterprise that might reasonably have been expected and a laudable desire to abolish deficits had obscured its vxsioir m respect to its larger and more urgent duties. To spend two millions and then leave the cable comparatively idle for two-thirds of a day was not commercial, pohtie 2 nor commonsense.
